Gidge v Chidlow Showdown!

McKinlay kick

It’s the blockbuster showdown Hills footy fans have been waiting for. The two unbeaten goliaths of the HFA competition go head to head for the first time this year at Gidgegannup (Percy Cullen Oval), 2pm Sunday June 9.

Both teams have been going about their merciless business, ruthlessly devastating all before them. An unusual set of fixtures have meant the Gidge Bulldogs and the Chidlow Cougars are only now about to encounter their most serious opposition. Each other.

Hills footy fans will know if the unbeaten Chidlow Cougars are the new kings of the competition, or if the Gidge Bulldogs will retain their stranglehold as the most dominant football force. A position the Bulldogs have guarded jealously for most of the last decade.

Both teams have kept opposition sides goal-less, even score-less. Both teams understand the meaning the outcome may have as they head toward the finals.

The stats and score-lines say Gidge are as strong as ever, but it seems the Cougars have advanced their game to a level that may at last test the Bulldogs.

“We’re really excited about the game. We’ve had some big wins this year, but we can’t be sure where we’re at. We’re looking forward to finding out when we play Gidge”, says Cougar’s President Adam Davis.

Gidge club president Terry Myers says he’s encouraged by the way Chidlow have come on since last season and he’s looking forward to the game. “I’m sure the game will be of a great standard, irrespective of the result”, he said.

Best of luck to both teams in the most anticipated match up of the season so far.
